Business World Educator Program
2011 Program:
June
15-16 & June 30, 2011
Edgewood College, Madison
The Business World for Educators Program is not just for business teachers! Any public or private school teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, or school-to-work coordinator who is interested in Wisconsin's economy, its impact on the health of Wisconsin, and its importance to today’s students and their future plans should attend. This program is a great opportunity to connect what you teach in your classroom with what is needed in the workforce.
This year’s program will focus on business and education partnerships, specifically around Wisconsin's economy. Participants will work together to produce a series of projects and presentations that can be shared by all. Every educator participating will take some aspect of Wisconsin’s economy – growing industries, specific sectors, workforce needs, regional areas of emphasis, best practices – and produce real life, real world curriculum to assist today’s students in learning about tomorrow’s careers. Participants will share ideas, critique proposals, and ultimately present their findings. The finished product will include the complete collection of curricula produced.
Participants will meet many of the teacher standards under PI-34 including 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10.
